Andy Rhodes currently serves as the Vice President and General Manager of Dell’s Internet of Things (IoT) business, overseeing the business strategy and products. Andy’s team is focused on providing secure, scalable IoT hardware and software solutions from the device to the edge to the cloud. Dell is passionate about providing customers with a comprehensive IoT ecosystem to help them innovate and move an idea from concept to reality.
Prior to his current role, Andy was the Executive Director for Dell’s multi-billion dollar Precision Workstation business. Helping customers get the most out of their professional applications in the fields such as Engineering, Media & Entertainment, Oil & Gas Simulations – through performance tuned and optimized workstation hardware. His organization developed the strategy, product planning and management for the division.
He has also held the position of Executive Director of Converged Infrastructure Solutions, focused on developing integrated infrastructure systems across compute, storage, networking, and infrastructure management. Andy also served as Dell’s Executive Director of Global Marketing of Data Center Solutions (DCS), responsible for providing customized infrastructure solutions to the world’s largest datacenter environments, such as Microsoft Azure, Facebook and many Chinese Web2.0 companies. Lastly, Andy was the Head of the Server Business for Dell in EMEA. In this role, he was responsible for defining and, implementing Dell’s Server and associated Services and 3rd party products strategy across the region.
Prior to joining Dell in 1999, Andy spent three years at Hewlett-Packard as Corporate Marketing Manager (Intel Products – Servers, Desktops, Laptops, Networks). In this role, he was responsible for the marketing strategy and implementation of the product lines for corporate customers and the reseller network as well as the development and management of the corporate marketing strategy.
Andy graduated from Oxford Brooks University, United Kingdom & Curtin University in Perth, Australia with BA Honors in Business Administration. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife and two kids. When not at work, you can find Andy on the racetrack in his BMW or mountain biking on the trails.
