Chiara Rustici is an independent, vendor neutral and technology agnostic GDPR and EU privacy analyst. Author of O’Reilly’s first GDPR book “GDPR: The Functional Specifications of EU-Grade Privacy“, she unpicks the European Union’s new privacy framework, the General Data Protection Regulation, for CIOs and IT leaders. She is credited with formulating clearly the “GDPR 3-variable equation”: the list of dependencies between business objectives, legal choices and IT solutions that every Enterprise / Data Architect needs to grasp and model to enable “maximum regulatory load tolerance” in GDPR implementation.
As a former jurisprudence academic scholar and a business leader, she understands the boardroom dynamics between legal and IT priorities and the ongoing struggle for IT to defend and maintain lineage for an enterprise’s data assets.
Her Op-Eds appear both in legal and IT publications, most recently in Bloomberg BNA and ComputerWeekly, and her pointed policy observations are often quoted in the mainstream press, most recently in The Times Big Data supplement.
